The middle of May...gloomy mornings and hazy afternoons. School years are finishing up as we creep into the summer mode. If it's heat you crave, the 2nd annual I.E. Salsa Festival fires it up at White Park on Saturday. Cooler inside places? There are three more days of the Riverside International Film Festival at The Box and Culver Center features the Best Picture winner of the 2016 Academy Awards. Also: it's an amazing week for kids and bugs with a lesson to save the monarch butterfly at 2nd Saturdays while Discovery Days breaks out the roaches at the Riverside Metropolitan Museum (make new friends). Adults, you too can Know Your Ants with tips from a UCR Entomology Assistant Professor. Did we mention Alton Brown and Jewel at the Fox? We love this town!
